Creating Automated Tests for a gnarly application: Lessons from The Trenches

In an ideal world, code is of good quality, automated tests focus on key behavior, and children are well behaved. The real world sadly is sometimes harsh.

C++

In this presentation the speaker will share the lessons learned on a large scale, high performance, C++ application that had to be brought in quickly to better standards, including having significant automated tests where there was none. We will discuss the tools used, the approaches taken, the myths that had to be fought, and the results that were achieved through hard work and some help of AI.
