Introduction to Bare Metal Coding

This is a very basic introduction to low-level coding. Nostalgic hackers might also find this session interesting. No operating system. No drivers. No SDK. Just your code and a computer.

Technique

In this session you might learn a bit more about development boards, device datasheets, emulators, machine code, assembler, unprotected direct memory access, cross compiling, and just having some fun with writing and running code directly on the bare metal.

Olve Maudal

Olve Maudal is based just outside of Oslo and he works for Equinor. He loves to write code, but he is just as interested in how software is developed as what it actually does. Main interests are embedded systems, C, C++, Python, TDD, secure coding, software architecture and machine learning. www.olvemaudal.com
