With a passion for Software Engineering challenges, both technical and social, Ali dedicates his time designing software systems and building engineering organizations. He is currently the managing director at KOPERA, a Stavanger based embedded software consulting firm. Before which, he held the CTO role at Soundrop, and worked as a software engineer for Cisco and TANDBERG where he built enterprise video conferencing and telepresence systems.
It was at this latter where he began his now 12 years journey with Erlang, from building a video-enabled social network and communication system to deploying a large scale online music event platform and shipping various embedded systems powered by Erlang.
Ali holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Technology from INSA Lyon coupled with 15 years of professional experience. He is fluent in various programming languages including C, C++, Python, Erlang, Elixir and TypeScript; as well as human languages: English, French, Arabic and some Norwegian.
